Why We Think Elon Musk Will Care About Manure Data
LWR’s on-farm fertilizer and water treatment PLANTTM uses sensor data to increase the sustainability of animal agriculture by transforming manure into 3 products: two distinct natural fertilizers and clean, reusable water; reducing on-farm methane emissions by up to 82%! A first of its kind predictive analytics platform uses proprietary algorithms and machine learning to extract information from data sets to determine patterns and trends to predict future system outcomes. This demonstration will show three ways that producers can leverage their manure data monitor their manure treatment information and leverage this data to optimize production by maximizing barn hygiene and sanitation while increasing production. On-farm data collection connected with IoT data provides powerful analytics that provide insights to help farmers make data-driven decisions that impact feed content/conversion, animal health, and nutrient crop management. Combining machine learning with manure data, we can identify opportunities for system integration not maximize carbon sequestration on a global scale. This information will form part of our submission to Elon Musk’s $100M XPrize for Carbon Removal. This data can be then meaningfully shared throughout the supply chain in response to conscious consumerism and the growing interest in how food-producing animals are raised.
