Freely Available Weather Forecasting Resources useful to support of Agricultural decision makers
This session will provide a look into Weather Forecasting Concepts and the Climatology of Central Alberta and then describe how to interpret and interrogate said forecasts to help make better near real time decisions. In addition, a listing of available online resources will be provided to help the producer to access information.

Bio: Brian Proctor
Brian Proctor is a Meteorologist and Climatologist who was employed by Environment Canada & the Department of National Defense for 36 years, working providing Operational Meteorological Services, including briefings and forecasts for a number of Canadian Provinces and Territories as well as to Canadian and Allied Forces domestically, on exercises and/or deployments around the world.
Mr. Proctor has worked as a contract Weather Forecaster for the BC Wildfire Service since 2019 providing general briefings, smoke forecasts, Fire specific forecasts, and custom venting forecasts.
One of Mr Proctor’s specific areas of expertise relate to orographic temperature and precipitation variations on the eastern slopes of the Rockies.
