The OC Experience: Using Satellite Imagery to Develop In-Crop VR Prescriptions

Over the last 2 growing seasons, the Smart Ag Applied Research team has used 3 variable rate (VR) prescriptions developed with the use of satellite imagery to selectively apply in-season fungicide or desiccant. As a part of the project, the research team recorded the effects of a VR application in comparison to a flat rate application, and compared the differences and advantages as a result of a VR strategy. Daniel will review what the team saw in both the field and through the data, and discuss considerations and lessons learned when making use of VR pesticide applications.
