Connectivity in a Rural Setting

August 2, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm

Speaker: Chris Ouellette, Olds College Centre for Innovation

Connectivity in a Rural Setting

Olds College Smart Farm, an operating commercial farm enterprise, is a living lab for the validation and demonstration of mid to late stage ag tech innovations. Inconsistent, poor reception, or entirely lacking 3G / 4G + LTE connectivity in Rural Alberta is a defined issue, preventing the implementation and full use of smart ag technology. Learnings will be shared about the different rural connectivity solutions that were explored at the Pitstra fields and other Olds College locations within Olds College Smart Farm.
